Rage, rage against the dying of the light

I am just not ready for this Fall thing yet. 😦 Yesterday i tried to convince myself that it still felt like Summer, but today i really can’t pretend.

Cubbies Game
Mom and i went to an I-Cubs game over the long weekend.

It’s not that i don’t like Fall, don’t get me wrong. I absolutely love Fall. I think it’s the most romantic season, which actually might drive me crazy this year since i have nobody to squeeze. What i’m really not happy about is the fact that Fall never lasts more than a few weeks here, it just goes straight into winter and i HATE winter. I mean, i can tolerate it for a long time, but when it’s been snowing for three months already and there’s no end in sight, i get pretty angry.

I’m gonna get me a garage this year, though, so that should help my nerves quite a lot.

In the news: John McCain was an exotic dancer back in the day. His new running mate, Sarah Palin, is a horrible, horrible person. Google’s new browser Chrome is only for Windows. I want an Intel Mac, so i don’t have to be jealous about that sort of thing anymore. I also want a new iPod, but rather than one with a larger capacity than my 4th generation iPod Classic 20gb, i’m thinking of getting a Nano because… drum roll… I’ve taken up running. I’m actually improving a lot and it’s only been three weeks, so now i’m thinking about getting the Nike + iPod system because everyone says it’s so cool. And it only works with Nanos. Sigh. Apple is about to release a new nano, though, so hopefully the prices on the old ones will drop.

  1. I’m going to really miss campus this fall. That’s one of the things about ISU that I absolutely loved… it’s so gorgeous when the leaves have changed and the sky is the kind of blue that really makes every other color stand out… those last warm days but there’s that hint of crispness in the air somehow.

That’s a lot of the reason I’ve timed my hopeful brief return to Ames (and Des Moines, if you’ve the time) for the end of October.

  2. My comment got partially erased above. Yeah I hate the MB Air. We have a professor here that uses one, and I think they’re way overpriced for what you get. You really can’t go wrong with a MB Pro – you can run any operating system you want. I generally have windows open (and tucked away in the dock where it belongs) all day.

I’m looking forward to Halloween this year.. I’m thinking of getting a pair of bear arms and going as the 2nd amendment. (I know, it’s been done πŸ™‚

  3. Zune’s are so much cooler! They actually come in colors! (bit of sarcasm, haha) I just don’t like little things that I can break in my hands. Or at least looks like I can.

I noticed Erik made a comment. I miss him. Cute smile, that one!

Wish I coulda gone to the game. I like to go once a year.

And I love fall too! But I despise winter and I am even more resentful that it takes over fall way too quickly…although today felt nice, being able to open the windows and all. Maybe I’ll catch you online tomorrow.

  4. I wouldn’t count on it. Last time they came out with the new nanos/shuffles, the old ones all mysteriously disappeared. I even happened to be in the Apple store and asked one of the sales guys if the old ipods were going to be discounted/cheaper… and he was like, “What old iPods?” Yes, because I’m that stupid, there is no such thing, Apple only has the newest stuff. I wanted to punch him in the face. Being in retail as long as I have I wanted to write an irate letter to whoever is in charge because that is an obnoxious way to treat customers… Especially people in the Apple store, because if they buy ANYTHING, they are spending lots of money. /end rant.
